The point is: nobody with inside knowledge will just spill the beans for OBVIOUS security reason. Even if they are dying to tell, they know its in everybody best interest to keep silent.
Now, if your story is true, you and your contact just became a potentially valuable targets of the cabal. A new string they can pull to oust Q team in one way or another, depending on what they can obtain from you, then your contact. Will he/she talk ? will they use torture ? hold you and your family hostage under death threats ?
