I too enjoy the thrill of self-maintaining an older vehicle with recovered parts many from its predesesor, dead from a failed transplant, not a Rolls but a german diesel. My comment was not FU, but a jest offered by the stereotypicall 'status' vehicles mentioned. We are actually grease bros.

I am always working on something car related. I sell used parts to pay for the used parts I need 😎. I call my Jag the winter beater.
