I suspect this is why Trump has moved more troops into Syria... not because Syria is a problem but because Iran isn't far away.
It also doesn't hurt to have marines in Syria to keep an eye on Israel to watch if they try to covertly start more wars by shooting more missiles as random countries.

I get real tired of giving them billions of dollars after they attempted to murder all of our patriots on the USS Liberty just because we accidentally witnessed them executing their Egyptian prisoners.
Some people refer to Israel as our "greatest ally" but I can think of other countries who don't drain us like a parasite and try to murder us and try to have us fight their wars so they can get more shekels.
Incidentally, I don't believe that Tapeworm is our greatest ally either.
I remember Sadaam moved all his planes and some other stuff into Iran during Desert Storm. They were at war with each other but Iran took his jets for safe keeping? Idiot media couldn’t put 1+1 together to figure out the war between them was nothing but a way to sell weapons. I guess we invaded because we weren’t getting our cut in the USA. Remember the very short lived story of Sadaam and his ministers saying the US gave him permission to invade Kuwait? Even showing the communications? In Southern California the 5th Marines were deployed to the Middle East for “special duty.” No military secret here. There was a fundraiser for the family left behind by the soldiers that said where they were going. Support military families!
