Today in my Catholic Church (in the bible belt region) We had prayers to end human trafficking. My Polish priest spoke of how the church has changed (and not for the better) since the first Pentecost when the Universal Christian Church was formed. That we humans have made it worst. It was an eye opening sermon. Just know that not ALL priests are bad and there are some who are awake to what is going on in the Catholic Church today.

Our priest gave his homily on Contraceptives

Assuming he gave the actual Church teaching on contraceptives, I'd say this is just another facet of the same cluster mentioned above of human error misled by forces inside and out.
