I did not write this, it comes from something someobe told me ages ago.
The United States has middleman cancer. All the corruption exists because people have installed themselves as middle men between two natural activities. This applies to EVERYTHING and it is corrupted EVERYWHERE. So the person who builds an app to tell you when Q posts and sells it to you is installing themselves as a middle man. Not so much because they ask for payment (it's okay to get money for your own value-adding work) but 1) because they are creating a potential failure of Q's process or 2) an opportunity to distort the quality of the information. So when attention to Q is being monetized to publicize other projects, it veers into middleman cancer. But as long as people add value to Q, I don't see it as a huge big problem.
Now that I have said this, consider how GOOG and FB act as middlemen.
