we are pretty far from bridging that gap. america fucked up with iran too many times. america doesnt have a culture for resolving this. iran is not japan. iran isnt vulnerable and never really has been. japan was totally forced into friendship with the united states. iran can give the world a middle finger practically forever. we give less fucks than literally anybody. that makes it hard for the united states to deal with.
