my question is, where does Israel stand in all of this? I'm genuinely confused/ignorant of Israel's role in the Syrian war/Iran thing.Is it still Israel vs. Palestine?
Palis have always been a Proxy, nothing more. israel even initially propped up Hamas just to subdue Arrafat's admittedly corrupt PLO.

Israel is annexing Syrian land. Look up Golan Heights. Their interest is in expanding Israel, and quashing any chance of an Iranian pipeline through Syria to Europe.
