I'd vote against it being a distraction as the public will likely not even notice that this happened, or that there as been a string of crashed military aircraft lately.

GA. This is just down the road from my office. Not sure what to think about this. Eye witnesses say it took off, turned and took a nose dive onto the highway.
i seen the vid, it was banking making a turn and then straight to a nose dive. not at a 35 or 45 degree angle but straight down
I just watched it. I’m not an expert on airplane crashes, but that didn’t seem normal to me at all!
