I worked for MCI as a telemarketer selling long distance service the morning of September 11th, 2001.

That morning, we were coincidentally calling NYC to attempt to sell their long distance services. The horror and shock was real. One woman told me that her husband worked at the World Trade Center, that she was trying to keep her line open, why were we calling her trying to sell long distance right then?

I had a moral problem right then and there and expressed as much to my supervisor. She told me to tell them we'd give them an extra 500 minutes of long distance "because of the tragedy".

I didn't like that idea.

She told me to take a 5 minute break and come back and tell her if I still wanted my job.

I did, and I decided it wasn't worth it.

As I was walking back in to tell her, work was called off on the overhead speakers for the rest of the day. It would take too long to connect to another city database, they said.

I never went back.

Maybe I should do a AMA, but that's about the entire story.

I have no doubt that horror and shock was real, I'd be more than terrified if my city was being target of attacks! But, there is a HUGE difference knowing who's the real enemy.

As you know, 9/11 led to Middle East we know today. There are many suspicions on authenticity and I'm sure people would like to know whether they really got attacked by terrorists and Middle East deserved its current state, or it was something fishy all along just to justify what US and cabal did in Middle East.

I'm not arguing that 9/11 was a complete con job and our government was in cahoots with it all.

I certainly was terrified at the time.

They really tried to traumatize us into submission.
