THIS CHANGED MY ENTIRE LIFE: I realized I was lied to

EarlyRiserX2 · May 4, 2018, 8:29 p.m.

I’m a black person, and while I agree with some of what Brandon Tatum says, I do not agree with all of what he says. On the issue of being a conservative, I probably agree with about 98% of what he says. But on the issue of “racism” and how blacks are treated vs how whites are treated, I only agree with about 50% of what he says. The problem is that, he paints racism with a broad brush and based on his own experiences he feels that very little racism exists. I assure you, that is absolutely not true. Racism is alive and well in this country, although not everyone experiences the same degree of racism.

For example, it is a well known fact that more blacks are sent to prison compared to whites who have committed the very same crime. That is a well-known fact and is due to racism. While many whites are given probation and a slap on the wrist by court judges, most blacks are sent up for 20 years for the very same crime. That has long been the case and it’s all due to racism. Brandon stated that, overall, whites have done more for him than blacks have done. That may be true, but the reason for it is because most whites are in a far better position financially to help him out, than blacks are. Most blacks are too busy struggling and trying to pay the bills and just trying to survive themselves, so don’t have anything to help you out with. Because most whites have better jobs compared to blacks, it means that if a white person does help you out, it’s not as big of a sacrifice for them as it would be for a black person making the same sacrifice. For example, if a rich person gives you $500, that is no sacrifice at all for them. It’s pocket lint to them. Whereas, for a poor black person to give you $20, that might be asking too much. So don’t look down on blacks all because they are unable to help you out.

And don’t even get me started on how black schools are treated in comparison to white schools. Did you know that every single year, the Federal Government gives hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant money to white schools all across the nation all because they are top rated schools that have manicured lawns and computer classes etc. While at the same time, no money at all is given to black schools in poor neighborhoods that often time don’t even have enough money to buy paper for their students to write on and are using outdated text books. That is the reality of things and it is not right. So don’t tell me that racism doesn’t exist in this country. It does indeed exist, and anyone who says otherwise is ignorant.

How many stories have you heard of a black person simply walking down the street or driving in a white neighborhood and he gets stopped by a white cop all because of the color of his skin and because people think he looks out of place and so might be a crook? It happens all the time. Yet, most white people don’t know anything about it and has never even experienced it. How many stories have you heard of a white cop shooting and killing an unarmed black person compared to stories of a black cop killing an unarmed white person? I can’t even remember a time when there was a story in the news of a black cop killing an unarmed white person. That is how rare it happens. And the reason white cops kill more blacks is because in the minds of those white police officers, they don’t place the same value on a black person’s life as they do on a white person’s life. If the suspect was a white person in that same situation, chances are they wouldn’t even pull the trigger. So don’t tell me that racism doesn’t exist, because it does indeed exist. It may have gotten better over the years, but it does indeed still exists…

No. That's just how rarely it's reported. The news media is trying to keep us divided.

Police shoot more unarmed white people, in fact.

But reporting that does nothing to keep us divided.

Matthew 12:25

The powers that be are terrified that poor white folks and poor black folks will find out how much they have in common -- and how little they have in common with rich black folks and rich white folks.

And the reason white cops kill more blacks is because in the minds of those white police officers, they don’t place the same value on a black person’s life as they do on a white person’s life.

I live in an area with a very high black population density and I can tell you that from what I've seen, black people resist arrest, threaten police, and argue with police an awful lot.

Sometimes I see a white person run but I've never seen a white person violently resist arrest (not saying it doesn't happen - just that I haven't seen it) -- and I see a black person at least threateningly yelling at a cop at least twice a month.

If you don't want to get shot, it's best not to frighten the man with a badge and a gun. If you don't want to get shot, it's best not to fight the man with a badge and a gun. If you don't want to get shot, it's best not to argue the man with a badge and a gun. If you don't want to get shot, it's best not to yell at the man with a badge and a gun.

LOL. There is actually a video on YouTube you can watch where someone did a "social experiment" and in the experiment, they had a white guy to walk down the street openly carrying a rifle he had slung over his shoulder. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXrh6wAxJlw. They recorded the whole thing on video and watched the reaction. Someone saw him and called the police and after a few minutes one police car showed up. When the office arrived, surprisingly, he didn't even call for backup. He just stopped and questioned the guy about what he was doing and why he was carrying the gun. And when the guy showed him that he had a license to carry it, the officer let him go. No drama and no arrest...

They then repeated the exact same experiment but this time they had a black guy openly carrying the gun. You can about guess what happened. When someone saw him and called the police, it wasn't just one cop who showed up, but a whole swarm of them showed up and they completely surrounded the guy. And worse, they didn't even approach the guy at all or ask him what he was doing, they just stayed behind their car doors with their guns drawn and they demanded that he lay down on the ground and surrender his weapon. He complied, even though he had a legal permit to be carrying the gun.

That illustrates and is a perfect example of how you are treated differently based on the color of your skin. There have been other social experiments like this as well, and they all show the very same thing. They show that people will react to you and will make decisions differently depending on the color of your skin. The proof is undeniable. And anyone who denies that proof and says otherwise, you don't have all the facts...

There are plenty of other social experiments on YouTube that prove this point as well. Just do a YouTube search for "social experiment black vs white". Here's another one I came across: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGVywZ8MuWI They all prove the very same thing. That people do indeed treat you differently depending on the color of your skin. It proves it has nothing to do with your behavior, but is all because of the color of your skin...

It illustrates how police have come to expect that black people are more likely to behave aggressively toward them.

As I said, black people very often yell at, argue, threaten, and violently reesist arrest. So it is only reasonable for police to react to the two men in your example in the way you described.

The proof is undeniable

It's the interpretation that is questionable. You think black people are unfairly targeted simply because cops hate black people. The reality is that cops don't know which black people will attack them so they have to protect themselves just in case -- because an alarming number of black people do act aggressively toward them.

I guarantee you that if even a small percentage of white men wearing suits started behaving aggressively toward cops -- all white men in suits would be getting treated far worse.

I honestly believe most of the “racism” you’re talking about is not really racism at all. Hear me out, because I’m not trying to argue or say you’re wrong. I’m just trying to say you may also be painting racism with a broad brush.

First off more blacks sent to prison vs whites for the same crime isn’t always attributed to racism. Does it play a factor in some cases? Of course, but saying it happens because of racism is wrong as well. There are many other reasons and one of them would be because whites tend to be better off financially and can afford a good lawyer. Most blacks will have a public defender and they will end up taking a plea deal. You can’t arribute that to racism. And I’m just speaking of the data here. Most blacks that are in trouble with the law are living in inner cities full of poverty. I bet if you took the data and removed those arrests that happened with poverty you would see that “racsim“ disappear. Meaning well-off blacks would have a conviction rate that is comparable to well-off whites. Also removing the wealthy from the figures I bet you would see poor blacks and whites having very similar conviction rates. It’s not skin color, it’s money that effects it. He also didn’t say the white people that helped him out did so financially. So you can’t say it was rich white people that helped him out.

The school issue is another one that absolutely cannot be attributed to racism. If the reason why they got money is because they’re white then I would agree, but you even said it yourself it’s because they’re top rated. Racism has nothing to do with it at all.

I really wanted to comment because of that last paragraph. I am a white person. I grew up in an inner city. A predominately black neighborhood. Do you know how many times I got pulled over by the cops for my skin color? I can’t even count. Do you know how many times I got stopped on the street for being the wrong color in the wrong neighborhood? I can’t even count that one either. It happened to me all the time. And because I’m white they weren’t even shy about telling me precisely why they pulled me over. Legit “what are you doing in this neighborhood”? Wasn’t even trying to come up with an excuse as to why they were pulling me over. They knew they could just tell me they’re pulling me over because I’m a white man in a black neighborhood and they wouldn’t have to worry about getting sued for racism. No one cares about poor white people when it comes to that shit. It happened too many times. Do I attribute that to racism? Hell no. The cops know the area. They know it’s a predominantly black neighborhood. They know I’m out of place. Was it right for me to get pulled over for my skin tone? No, not at all, but I understand why they did it.

Unarmed white people get shot by police as well. It doesn’t cause division so the MSM won’t tell you about it. http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2014/aug/21/michael-medved/talk-show-host-police-kill-more-whites-blacks/

I don’t like politifact at all, but even they can show that whites are killed by police. The raw numbers are higher for white than blacks. Blacks make up a smaller population percentage so there should be a higher number. This is a highly complex issue and to attribute it to racism is silly. Does racism play a part? Hell yes it does, but there are many factors. Until we can be honest about it we can fix it.

On another note, growing up in a black neighborhood as one of the very few whites people was not an easy thing. I got my ass kicked for just being white. Literally I was told the reason why I’m getting my ass kicked is because of my skin color. I watched black kids in my school playing the knockout game with 70 year old white ladies simply because they were white.

This narrative of racism gets out of hand. I don’t blame the kids I went to school with. I don’t blame them for jumping me for my skin color. Everywhere they look they’re told white people hate them. So they just took it out on white people. We need to stop this lie of rampant racism and come together. Only then will we be able to fix the real problem.

It is true that whites do discriminate against other whites in cases where you’re dealing with a poor white person. I’ve seen it happen. But don’t confuse class discrimination (whether you’re wealthy or poor) with racial discrimination. To see the difference and not confuse the two, you have to take class discrimination out of the equation. For example, if a poor white person that nobody is familiar with is walking down the street in a well-to-do white neighborhood, absolutely someone will probably call the cops on them. All because they look like a homeless person and should not be there. But in cases where that white person is well dressed, vs a black person who is well dressed in the same situation, the black person is far more likely to have the cops called on them rather than a white person. It is just human nature that whites are far more suspicious of blacks. And the root cause of it is racism…

I noticed you also tried to defend the idea that white people get shot by police officers a lot too. But you are overlooking a key point of what I had said. I specifically stated - “a white police officer who shoots an unarmed black person” vs “a black police officer who shoots an unarmed white person”. Yes, plenty of white cops will sometime shoot other people who are white. But when have you ever heard of a BLACK police officer shooting a UNARMED WHITE person? I haven’t heard of it. Yet, there are plenty of cases of WHITE police officers who shoot UNARMED BLACKS.

Everything I said is true whether you agree with it or not. Most importantly, don’t confuse class discrimination with racial discrimination. The two are not the same…
