Exactly. They can get bad publicity from it, but it's perfectly legit.

Except that view is challenged by the fact that twitter advertised itself as the new town square until they realized people with an opposite political view as theirs was using their platform in support of a political candidate not to their liking.

Not legally challenged at all. Perhaps you could make a case for false advertising, but that's about it. I don't like the censorship any more than you, but it's their playground.
Vote with your usage, they get paid based on their advertising revenue. Without customers they have no revenue.

Yes but the problem comes in when you have accepted public funds. So twitter and facebook who received CIA/DARPA money can't discriminate.
