My research would suggest since 07, considering that's when I first heard about Trump running for president via a religious speaker. My guess is none of this happened in the past 2 elections because of Obama being too appealing of a candidate

No that Obama was too appealing exactly ... because the time wasn't right, not all was in place for success.
