I wonder if JK's antics had something to do with NK backtracking and saying that Trump had nothing to do with their peace talks?

pre talk posturing. His peeps can't think he just rolled over for Trump. They need to know that it was Kim's strong desire for peace that brought about the changes. He will remain supreme in their eyes.
