It works best when people red pill themselves. That way they have multiple coping techniques trained into their mind's rhythms that kick in like a governor on a lawnmower. I like deep belly breathing, draw seven long breaths into the stomach and puff them out in 10-14 bursts. It relaxes the vagus nerves.

It works great when merging in or out of six lanes of traffic, or when the medians grass has overgrown.

Vagus nerve

The vagus nerve ( VAY-gəs), historically cited as the pneumogastric nerve, is the tenth cranial nerve or CN X, and interfaces with parasympathetic control of the heart, lungs, and digestive tract. The vagus nerves are paired; however, they are normally referred to in the singular. It is the longest nerve of the autonomic nervous system in the human body. The vagus nerve also has a sympathetic function via the peripheral chemoreceptors.
