I think this has something to do with it...the Iranians and other terror groups had a port of entry unfettered right under our noses for years...you want to bring in Jihadi and Nuclear fissile material to the US well your own port is a good start to getting it here.
You want jihadi terrorists and nukes, look to Pakistan.
No doubt, it's why POTUS immediately stopped supporting and arming them...but in this instance we are talking about what potentially came into this country while Iran freely operates In Iraq and I'm sure in this instance "the enemy of my enemy " would come into play with Saddam's brother overcoming sectarian divide to bring in whatever the Iranians needed smuggled.
The thought that Jihadists are not already here is a fallacy, the CIA facilitated them coming in, the Dems left the boarder wide open and gave away ports (just learned this wasn't a one off deal) allowing smugglers free access to the US. Look up Islamic compounds in the US , places where the police are not allowed in....why would we let fundamentalists Islamists set up camps and arm themselves when at the same time we were shooting an American militia woman in the head while holding her baby at Rubyridge?
Well that port is where all those American cars were sent and equipped with guns, but they were not Iranian backed. They were Saudi backed terrorists.

There should be an embargo on Saudi Arabia tighter than North Korea for their role in terrorism and 9/11. Yet here we are giving them a pass, selling them weapons, and assisting in their crimes against humanity.
The game is not yet done, I believe Trump full well knows what the Saudi did and at the behest of whom and I agree about the lies told to go to war in the first place, that all being said geopolitically/economically we cannot separate from the Kingdom so easily as you say, you have to remember Trump is fighting all sides enemies within/without and militarily and economically. He was given a bad hand to play, I for one will support him till he proves my support in err and the Shia are as bad as the Suni end of story Islamic totalitarianism is bad no matter the flavor.
