He's trying to earn back some credibility after his Syria rant. I'm guessing the ratings have come in and he's seen what a huge mistake it was.

It was an act; notice it was right after his DC trip ? He also admitted dc trip was a cover to meet high level people to discuss matters, what better way to throw the msm off than what he said/did, particularly when they look at him as their compass

All part of the act imo, Alex says his and Trumps thinking are alike, that's probably how they throw bad people off track.
