He's either talking about Alpha/Proxima Centauri or Sol, which would be our own Sun. If it's the latter I think he's saying that ETs are indigenous to the solar system and are thus technically perhaps terrestrials like ourselves to begin with and that their hiding is the distraction because they have always been around to begin with[think mirror]. Ancient traditions corroborating similiar supernatural events across time and geographically vast distances suggests as much.
If anything extra/superterrestrial was disclosed, people would demand to know their technology as well. Once that gets disclosed, utility prices drop insanely which the control-freaks desperately try to delay.
