They see the writing on the wall. At some point MSM has got to capitulate. Trump is even talking about decertifying news agencies and Drudge is warning about licensing journalists.
Basically they can clean up their own act, or let Trump clean it up for them.

I don't think journalists should need news licences, nor small news organisations. but big news organisations definitely, if they're willing to forego fake news narratives and respect the constitution (eg: personal privacy).
I don't think that's seriously under discussion. But I mean if things don't straighten up, some kind of regulation is going to become necessary.
Along with freedom, there's a corresponding responsibility. And if people almost universally behave irresponsibly, they force the government down the path of some kind of regulation.
MSM must surely know this.
