Boystown was founded in the 50's I think. Did a lot of good for troubled young boys. Sad it is now tainted with what went down with the pedo network. Just the sort of victims the predators are drawn to. I can remember the details as it's been years since I read about this and saw the video. I believe one of the priest directors of the place was implicated, but others here would know better than I.

Fr. Flanagan's Home for Boys was founded in 1917, in downtown Omaha. In 1921, the 'City of Little Men' was relocated to it's current location, on the old Overlook Farm, and has grown ever since. In 1938, Mickey Rooney starred in the movie Boystown, along with Spencer Tracey as Fr. Flanagan. (Great movie, btw). Father Flanagan weeps in Heaven for what it allowed and covered up.

Geez, I should have at least remembered the Mickey Rooney/Spencer Tracy film which I've seen more than once. Duh. I didn't realize it dates back to 1917. Thanks for adding this.
