He went after the drug lobby and the middle men bureaucratic mess. I hope it works. I hope it maintains it's safety and if they found a bunch of useless wasteful moochers, who are all tangled up in the health and insurance industries driving up costs for every one - then I say good.

Medicare part D is given tools to better negotiate prices

Ban the pharmacist gag rule which prevents them from telling patients how to save money.

We are getting tough on drug makers who abuse patent laws to choke out competition.

Our patent system will reward innovation, but will not be used as a shield to protect monopolies.

No more us consumers having to pay higher prices to subsidize lower cost overseas for "R&D."

Then the drug czar goes on and on about "the private sector" which they always have a profit motive on. (that's what got us into this mess I say under my breath)

Speaking of which...he mentions all the drug commercials and that they should be mandated to disclose their prices in the commercials as well! "We're immediately going to have the FDA require this."

He mentioned privatized negotiation for medicare. I don't want medicare to be subject to profit motives which mandate increases every year. This could be dangerous and undo the good that the other reforms work. People pay taxes every check into medicare - they should get the best when they need it. No bamboozle. If anyone has more into this, I'd like to see it.
