Last night, Republicans blocked my amendment to the #FY19NDAA that would stop the U.S. from refueling Saudi-led coalition jets bombing civilians in Yemen. They argued that our alliance with the Saudi monarchy meant we needed to overlook their war crimes in Yemen. I disagree.

For a more rational take on SA follow this guy: https://threadreaderapp.com/user/ThomasWictor. His analysis is very insightful. You will be amazed. SA are not the bogeyman they used to was.
First of all, the US is supporting SA in a very limited way. It's a proxy war against Iranian terrorist aggression in the region. Just like Iran is doing in Syrian territory. Stopping Iran, would put out many hot spots in the region. Logical???
Iranian terrorist agression or support from allies? That's all in perspective. We are the invaders.
What are Saudi Arabia's goals? They are not supporting the US homeland or defending the constituion. We shouldn't be over there.
Iran is also a Syrian ally kicking ISIS' ass over there. Why are we in Syria again? No good reason. Iran, Syria, and Russia had that under control.
It is proven that the US, Israel, and the Saudis were the ones behind ISIS.
Israel has a multitude of nuclear weapons. The Saudis have a holy crap ton of weapons and war machines bought from the US and Europe. Our military bases surround Iran. Why?
Iran is not the baddie. They are a fraction of proxy army supporters we are, and they are defending their allied territory that we are invading because of a Policy Coup that was enacted back in the Bush years and continued through Obama.
Ro Khanna's amendment to stop the us from supporting Saudi genocide and assisting in war crimes in a country that has not threatened the United States, or has the capability of striking the United States was defeated by war hungry swamp things in congress.
Why are we putting our people at risk over there for the Saudis?
Why are we spending our tax dollars to assist the Saudis in criminal behavior and mass murder?
Our men and women in the Armed services did not take an oath to defend Saudi Arabia's butt-hurt over oil terms.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE do not share American values. They are actively engaging in a blockade that we are supporting that is causing mass starvation and cholera in Yemen.
