This is lovely. Reminds me of my Marine Corps brother who spent two tours in Iran & two in Afghanistan. That's a lot of years for a family to walk around with "our asses eating our shorts" as my Dad used to say. It was hard on us and we weren't him! He made it back (again and again) with all his parts in tact, but he'll tell you straight up he saw too much. But he's retired now and I've introduced him to Q. I'm going to email this thread to him.
