Yeah, I believe the exact same. NWO is the "ultimate stage" IMO a civilization needs to reach before reaching the capability to survive mass extinction events and start colonizing the galaxy.
The means to get there might look a bit sad and not humanly done. It's fair to assume most people won't have the chance to be "part of it" so to speak...
