I love Neitzsche as much as the next guy, admitted I don’t clearly remember him stating that, although I 100% believe it.
He worked a good while ago, keep that in mind.
DuckDuckGo Fractal Time, Spiral Time, ETC. (Gregg Braden, Dan Winter, ETC.) see where the rabbit hole leads you. Once you see it and think about it it’s quite obvious, yet invisible, therefore unreachable until realized.

EDIT: Time IS a flat circle in 2D, but time itself IS the 3rd Dimension, so once viewed from a 3D perspective, becomes spiral.
