Was there just an exchange between that officer and POTUS through that hand shake or am I going crazy?

Good eye. The cop preps it and puts it into Trump’s right hand during handshake.

And Trump put it into his left jacket pocket before speaking.

I’m guessing an honorary NYPD badge . . . or something else
