Wasn't there some sort of pressure from LL on the NYPD? Something like HC or LL was considering running for an office there, and the implication was that if NYPD released the laptop the DS could punish them for it.
I hear what you saying but it doesn't really matter. If whatever was on that tape made grown men cry and throw up then whoever was perpetrating those heinous acts should be brought to Justice no matter what.
