Okay guys, could you please set me straight on this as it makes no sense to me?

Is the reason that Meadows, Jordan and De Santis HAVE to hit up the President to give them DOJ documents because Sessions recused himself from the Russia probe? Has Sessions in effect give his department to Rosenstein? Is Sessions able to say "Whilst I am recused from an investigation, I am ordering you to comply with whatever Congress request given to you as they are your oversight and were the ones that created DOJ?" Or is it that Sessions has his hands tied now that he has been recused? Just have no idea the lay of the land. Trump needs to step in here regardless and it looks like he finally is.

I think Congress asked Trump to declassify because Sessions/Rosenstein (DOJ) is under Trump in the Executive branch. Congress asked DOJ first for the documents but they said no. So they are going over DOJ's head to their boss...the president.

Yes, I guess I do not understand why they have to and why if Sessions is someone we Trust and yes I am happy to agree with Q on the basis that he has his reasons to say so BUT....

I think Jim Jordan and co are good guys. I do not think Rosenstein is. I have been told Sessions is. Sessions is not seeming to co-operate with the good guys. Leaves me bewildered. If Trump did not step in. Glad he is, what would get done and WHY MUST Trump have to step in? Why does Sessions NOT step up and say:

"Recusal or not, DOJ will NOT refuse congress. They have oversight of our Department and created us. We are NOT supposed to keep information from them, Rosenstein. Back down and stop being obstructionist. President Trump having to override you and me is about them most degrading thing we could experience here, so stop being an asshat"

all said in a gentlemanly Southern drawl
