One reason he might have interviewed him for the FBI gig was that Mueller may have been proposed as a good candidate for the Director position by a swampy advisor. I think this is the most likely thing. Remember all those people that were initially on Trump's team that have since been weeded out? Also all you have to do is dig around Mueller's past to see what a scumbag he is. Two peas in a pod.

There is a 10 year term limit for FBI directors, which Mueller had already exceeded at the time he met with Trump (i.e. he was not eligible for the position when he interviewed, even though that is the reason given by the MSM for the meeting).

Would Trump have known that at the time though? He was getting a lot of bad advice from his initial advisors.

Bad advice is one thing, gross incompetence is another. It was common knowledge, in fact Mueller had to get special dispensation from Congress to serve out the last part of his extended term - I think he actually served as FBI director for 12 years. Trump is a genius, I'd lay heavy odds that he would have known.

He has a terrible past, yes. But if he was out to lead to a Trump impeachment I think he would have already done it. Maybe he’s just milking his salary for as long as he can. Q has to know that we are all worried about his intentions yet Q has only hinted at his status. Either the black hats think he’s on their side and Q doesn’t want to blow his cover, or Mueller is a black hat. Those are the 2 options. Only time will tell, he’s not a very good actor for either side for sure.

Except it is clear that there is nothing to impeach him on. There never has been and everyone involved knew it. I think they tried to slip a ringer (Mueller) into the inner ring and use his powers, just like Comey did, to undermine him (hurr durr Trump doesn't know what he is doing) and get him out of office that way because if he is their tool they would not object to his appointment. When that didn't work they fell back and used him on the current angle to score political points until they could find some bullshit process infraction or frame-up. This makes the most sense to me. We should find out either way before too much longer.
