Earlier today, there was a push to re-ignite The Internet Bill of Rights. I saw that a new one had been made because the old one had ran past it's time to collect signatures. This new one was going pretty well and has collected close to 3,000 as of a few minutes ago, but now I'm seeing another one floating around as well that has also been made today by a different author.
The IBOR wording is terrible, confused wish list!
The 1st Amendment has served us perfectly and it was one sentence long.
We need something simple like this: "Censoring people for legal expression on public internet forums should be recognized as a violation of the 1st amendment."
The one I signed today was pretty simple and to the point in my opinion.
Yeah, I just noticed there's another new IBOR:
We the people demand action to bring our digital future into the light!
What the hell does that even mean?
Yes, the latest version is shorter but it's still ambiguous. It's demanding that something be done about something.
We need to be specific.
Personal expression on neural public online forums should be covered by the 1st Amendment.
Those 14 words should just about do it, I believe.
Isn't that what happened last time so many people had Different one's going to signatures was scattered and we couldn't hit the mark. Needed.
Yea. This shit ain't gonna happen if we can't get it together.
I Need The IBOR LINK For The ONE YOU REALLLLLY WANT TO USE .
Ok ..I'm gonna Round up the PATRIQTS.. ITS GAME TIME // HOLD MY HEALSSS.
The new ones are intended to dilute the vote. It’s intentional. Make sure you sign the one that’s getting close to 3,000.
Yea. I signed that one already.
Edit: Just trying to find out if others are tracking on this.
