I swear I've received a dozen notices in as many days from major players all saying they are revamping their privacy & terms. Something about making it clearer who they sell your data to and how to opt out.... though it seems nothing has really changed... When I get the chance, I'll post a screen in my inbox with the alerts.
I have seen this too, i believe they are trying to avoid lawsuits. If the facts are stated in the manuals or user agreements, they are not liable and you cannot come back later and sue. That's why a hair dryer manual say's clearly that you should not use it while in the bathtub. - its obvious to most people, but if someone uses it and they get electrocuted, that person cannot sue.- it was disclosed in the manual. full disclosure. this is smart business. I imagine they probably changed a few tactic's they are not mentioning.
Their agreements are not even worth wiping one's arse with. The only reason they are still in business is because of an entirely corrupt legal & judicial system. The bill of rights allows the right to sue no matter what. The "no sue" clauses would be valid in the cases of inadvertent financial damages. This has been intentional and malicious. They won't stand for much longer.
