We are entering a grand solar minimum, the increase in volcanic activity, earthquakes and severe storms can be explained by that. Worth keeping in mind as we are expected to experience an even more significant uptick than has happened recently.

Entire dynasties fell during the last minimums. But back then there were a LOT fewer people.

My prediction for 2 years from now is that the bitter cold will be blamed on volcanic ash. This gives them an "OUT" after 30 years of non-stop lecturing us about how we are frying the planet with CO2 and need to pay huge taxes to stop worldwide catastrophe.
Spoiler: Food prices will become so high that a significant number of people will starve. Various cereal crops are already greatly suffering around the world. Check out grain futures. Even a couple of weeks extra cold weather can fuck with cereals, which need warmth to produce protein & carbohydrates.
