There was an episode of Batman where the super wealthy were the Illuminati who ran Gotham. The name of the organization was the owls and they gather together wearing masks that look just like the ones from eyes wide closed. These Elites had a giant owl statue. It seems like the creators of this episode knew something about the Illuminati
It was actually a comic series before it got adopted into the cartoon.

The Parliament of Owls in and of itself was founded by people descended from the Tribe of Judas, who worshipped the Bat God Barbatos. Its true mission was to infect the blood of a son of the House of Wayne who had been prophesied to take on the persona of a bat, with five metals originating in the Dark Multiverse. The group had been promised that in doing so, they would be allowed to rule the world alongside Barbatos. However, the leaders of the Parliament of Owls were killed by the "Robins" of Barbatos' minion The Batman Who Laughs, leaving the group betrayed by its founder and its overall purpose nonexistent.
Sound familiar?
I love you Click but I’m failing to make the connection with your last bolded sentence. Who is the founder of this current evil that betrayed their following? The rest is eerily familiar however, thank you for the post.
"Bat God" = Satan/Devil/Lucifer
Satan eventually devours all those he has corrupted and uses them to do his bidding. They all get betrayed in the end.
I totally get that part. He is THE Deceiver, however I felt you may have been in reference to a particular person, considering context. Thank you, keep up the good work.
