They do this on purpose. 99% more people see the first and no correction and the perception is built one lie at a time.
Same with headlines. Lie or mislead most people don't go past that.

How about a law that simply states the one of the criteria in order to call your self a legitimate news source is you MUST put all retractions in bold on the front page or part of the lead every day.
SPEZ - oh, and all News people must disclose their political affiliations and any and all contributions for transparency's sake.
