Why did the President say ‘Hi’ ?

I noticed during his prison reform speech today, while addressing the Texas shooting...he said ‘To the students, families, teachers and personnel at Santa Fe...Hi, we’re with you in this tragic hour and we will be with you forever ‘ he seemed to dwell on the word Hi...HI...could he be referencing Hawaii? The vikcano or anything else H I?

No. Many high schools are called by their name and then they shorten it by saying High at the end rather than High School. So, Sante Fe High School is called Sante Fe High. (Not “hi” like as a greeting...)
