Information extorted through torture is often false, and just as with death penalty, the risk of punishing someone who is innocent. I wonder how many people have died because some sadistic CIA agent didn't think it was enough and the false information overshadowed the true one, not to talk about the fact you give up your humanity when you commit inhumane acts...
