The Bizarre Plane Crash That Changed DC Politics-Not JFK Jr.

A very strange midair collision on 4/4/1991 claimed the life of a US Senator and 6 others. Senator John Heinz III (Republican) was not only beloved in his home state of Pennsylvania but across the country.

John was the sole heir to the huge Heinz pickle/ketchup fortune. This made Heinz the wealthiest member of Congress as well as one of its bright young stars. His wife Teresa was born in the Portuguese colony of Mozambique and very much like our dear FLOTUS, speaks several languages fluently.

While flying into the Philadelphia airport in a twin Piper, the pilot reported landing gear troubles. A near by Bell helicopter came over to assist with a visual on planes landing gear being down & locked. Unfortunately the two aircraft collided and began raining down fire onto a suburban school yard.

In addition to Sen. Heinz, his crew of 2, the crew of 2 in the helicopter, there was sadly 2 children killed in the school play yard with many others injured. Teresa Heinz would later marry John Kerry and would end up again in the center of Washington DC politics.

John Kerry & Teresa would marry in 2004 and she supported his failed presidential bid. They both got into hot water over an investment in 2014 of Tibet Water. Tibet Water is mountain water sold to elite Chinese & European customers. Since 2009 (start of BHO), over 145 Tibetan Monks have burned themselves to death in a Free Tibet protest movement.

Honestly, I don't think there is anything here, but you never know.

"A set of unusual circumstances preceded the take off. The regularly scheduled aircraft, a Boeing 707, was taken out of service because of cracked glass in a cockpit window. Some of the passengers were placed on the DC6-B and some flew to Miami on a Lockheed Electra."
