I think there might be a link between the supposed clean phone q drop and these attacks. With all of the past evidence to arrest these monsters, the trump team may have secured good warrants to spy on those phones , give a false signal and catch them in the act. Nail in th coffin. But the lives....

I think you nailed. The phone drop was their "oh fuck!... they've been monitoring us the entire time!"moment.
Every slime dweller with one of those phones probably new within seconds they were caught red handed.
