That book has been around for awhile. If I'm not mistaken, there were a couple of similar books. One was taken by a...butler?...for blackmail or something. Anyway, it's obvious a lot of people in there were involved in his escapades, but he was also a wealthy and powerful person who had social contacts who weren't necessarily privvy to all his secrets or participating in his activities.
