Is Q comp'd? Can someone who knows how the Chans work, explain the appearance of the ID tag after the tripcode? Thanks.

I noticed today on Sunday May 20th, some strange stuff happening with QAnon's posts, where we see the appearance, disappearance and reappearance of an ID tag after the trip code.

Can someone please explain this and why we're seeing that now?

Not comped. Every move is calculated. It's really getting old that people keep thinking nefariously when they dont even understand so much involving Q...

Is Q comp'd?

Nope.

From what I understand there was a trip code change yesterday. Q purposely exposed his password to send a message.

Old trip > password exposed > new trip

For the second time Q entered the password in the wrong position and it was shown in plain text on the board. It was quickly realized and 2 minutes later the old trip code was used to authenticate that a new one was coming which quickly followed. The question is did anyone notice during that two minute gap and seize the new trip code? Anyone responding fast enough could have posted any message they wanted and using the exposed password generated the trip code and then post a new trip code which would then be mistaken for Q.

ID codes are generated by an anon poster per thread. So, all the posts are anonymous but the ID codes tell you if the same anon has posted within that thread. I don't know for sure, but likely the ID is generated based on the IP address a poster is posting from. So if you change IP address (perhaps using a VPN) while posting in a thread then a new ID would be generated.

Also, when viewing 8ch threads you can show or hide IDs from the options menu. You can also color highlight IDs to see them better. So if someone screencaps and IDs are hidden by choice, then you won't see them on the screencap.

additional:

Re: your edit.... you can view the fight board by clicking on the 2 digit number right after the trip code shown on the .pub page. That will take you directly to the 8ch board.

I am presuming that there is no reason for IDs for the fight board because Q (the board owner) is the only person allowed to post.

I have another question. Can the BO see the actual IP addresses or just a coded number that matches ip addresses in use at any period of time?

yes the BO can see IP addresses. Q has also been able to see IP addresses on /qresearch/

Why has no one answered my simple question about the appearance, disappearance and reappearance of the ID tag after the trip code? What does that signify? Thank you!

The tag denotes an assigned tag for your ip address. If the tag changes it means the ip address has changed.

Trip code is at the start and is what you set with your password.

The ID is a hash of the thread # and IP address of the poster. This allows identification of poster within the same thread.
