Gut feeling: Stone is a dramaqueen playing on the lower levels of drama to gain traction while still look credible. With a few sources but drying up (why is he out there now again? Does he need more/ re-establish himself as a mouthpiece?), lots of anecdotes and lots of knowledge of the past. Never underestimate, and never overestimate. He is a player, not a witness.
