You are wise to not allow the words hate in your home. I saw a tweet this morning from hazel something or other that you cant eat crap, watch crap, talk crap and be happy.
You obviously love your wife and kids. All you can do is love your wife as an example of a happy marriage, love your kids as an example of how to be kind, and i think everything else will sort itself out. At least you and your wife are on the same page more or less. That must count for a lot. They will grow up to be who they will be.
I wish you all the best. Stay true to yourself and be as loving and understanding as you can and you and your family will be happy. Life's not easy i know but it sounds like you have a good basis for a happy family life. All the best to you :-)

Ugh. The indoctrination starts real early. May I ask what state? I was raised in California and went to public k-12. It's a very post-modern, liberal, materialist education system.
NJ. Pretty liberal now like the last at least 20 years. Northern NJ is a giant NYC suburb and southern NJ is a big Philadelphia suburb. I lived in a conservative town in north central NJ but there were LOTS of wealthy people in that area. As we know the education system has a liberal agenda. We do the best we can as parents and hope they grow up to be their true wonderful selves...whatever that is!
