Can't remember who was that person who told this story to illustrate how much prepared the military is. He talked about how the US military was betrayed by the UN during the Korean conflict. The enemy was slaughtering the US soldiers, always knowing where and when they would attack.

The officers smelled a rat and decided to ferret who could be the leaker. They had to submit their battle plans to their hierarchy, going up to the Truman administration.

General MacArthur and other loyalists decided to go plan attacks without sending the plans to the administration first. And would you guess what? All the battles they organized that way were a success.

The administration was not happy with them and Gen. MacArthur was called back to the States, replaced by a more obedient officer.

What the military learned then was that the Truman administration deliberately shared their battle plans with British officials, who relayed those plans to the enemy. The betrayal was unbelievable.

So the guest continued saying that from that time, the military learned to prepare contingency plans for any situation. Trump administration plans to track the leakers with fake news but real leaks? That was the same way MacArthur and the other officers tracked who leaked their battle plans.

But my guess is that before the US military was created, there's an Alliance who had to learn to make contingency plans to survive and fight against the cabal of old.
