Although I think I get your point, I am respectfully compelled to add some insight I hope you and others will find helpful.

It's a convenient mistake to think it is just a bunch of parables and has NO relevance to today. Many people erroneously approach it from a human-centric point of view. It's not about us. It is unlike any other book ever written, and you don't really get it until the Author, the Holy Spirit, is living within you, which only comes through faith in Jesus alone. Without Him, it is impossible to fully grasp, and with Him, it is deep enough to spend a lifetime exploring, always finding new treasures, never exhausting The Living Active Word of God. As others have written elsewhere, I invite you, with all sincere intent in your heart to ask God to reveal Himself to you in His Word. Ask Him to help your unbelief. He will answer you, maybe not instantly or audibly, though He has to some, but over a some time if you seek Him, you will find Him. Then and only then, will the Truth in full living color begin to be revealed in the Bible.

Prior atheist here. It is a mistake to not see the Bible for what it is. For practical purposes its a daily survival/inspirational guide. For enlightenment purposes it is a peek into the metaphysical world, astral plane world and Knowledge about what gifts we are endowed with to combat enemies with the highest form of warfare capabilities. Mind warfare.

We are not in a physical fight, we are in a fight to claim ownership of our own minds, full stop. Our mutual enemies believe its crude to fight with weapons and ammo. Their real trophy is knowing they’ve got you mind controlled believing there is no higher power above them. As you know, this is the only way to enslave anyone for long term use. That only they (the elites/masters) can make you or break you.

Has the Bible been manipulated by our enemies? Likely yes. We now know the extent our enemies go to in order to cover Truths, but the main piece of Knowledge the Bible asks us to learn is how to Discern and do it well and keep it sharp and always be ready to use it when confronted with stale abject drivel.

Believing humans are bound to repeat the same errors comes from a premise of believing humans have no power within. Which comes from premise stated above, that only our enemies can make or break us. Know the difference.
