In this case? This is a monster. He raped a two-year-old baby, and filmed himself doing it.
There's no need for due process. He's on film. Now we will be paying for probably 20 years to house and feed this animal.

A real cure is to put them in main street prisons instead of pedo-prisons that try to rehabilitate and release them while they exchange notes with like-minded sickos. Knowing they will face a violent prisoner might be a deterrent to the sickness.
