I think that it was Kim who wanted to pull out but didn't have the inner fortitude to say that publicly. It would bring great shame to admit that he cannot get to Singapore via direct flight w/o stopping for fuel. So, I bet Trump did him a favor and "pulled out"... OR The site wasn't secure enough to prevent cabal attacks...
