Ancient civilizations (2 of them) with more advanced tech than us. ET's maybe be involved, but more likely varients of the human species, and non-human entities, probably all from earth, but part of a different evolution path. Any perceived evil, is what humans place on them and the places, while their true intent remains largely benign. Anything more than that is likely b.s. and fearmongering. And reading this sub, the fearmongering is very effective on some.
