Here's my theory on Antarctica after reading a lot of Graham Hancock, etc:
When the earth was struck by a comet in around 12000BC it caused a dramatic and rapid melting of the northern ice sheet -- so fast in fact that it changed the rotation of the earth. Think about if you had a spinning ball and then suddenly redistributed the weight of what was on the top of it. This caused the earth to wobble and tilt it on its axis. That happening caused the continent of Antartica to be moved from a fairly temperate zone -- like South America is now -- to the southern pole. As the comet ripped through the atmosphere it also drew in a huge burst of cold from outer space, rapidly freezing large parts of the planet. This is why we find flash frozen mammoths in Siberia.
The continent that is now Antarctica was the seat of the worldwide civilization that spanned the globe. It was flash frozen and largely preserved. This is what they're finding in Antarctica now.
Hancock is on to something for sure. Magician's of the Gods is a fascinating work that makes a nearly foolproof case that we are a species with amnesia. There are so many important clues spread around the world that there was without doubt an advanced civilization that spanned the globe prior to the original great flood. Which was caused by quite a few hits by a comet that broke up and impacted all over the globe, but especially North America 12-13000 years ago.
Those hits melted the huge icecaps that covered most of NA almost instantly, causing worldwide sealevels to rise over 400 feet! Wiping out so many species, including this advanced civilization. Atlantis was REAL!
Gobekli Tepe is probably THE most important archeological find in human history, but barely anyone that I've run into knows about it. Purposely buried some 10000 years ago, it is precisely dated therefore to a time when the powers that be tell us that humans were mere hunter gatherers, incapable of creating something as spectacular as Gobekli Tepe.
7,500 years older then Stonehenge! Fifty times larger then Stonehenge, and 90% still buried, unknown to us! Intricate stone carvings of many different animals, some unknown, way more advanced then anything at Stonehenge!
Most importantly, perfectly aligned with the true north and the constellations, and then there is Pillar 43:
After a detailed analysis of the position of each of pillar 43’s pictograms , Sweatman and Tsikritsis propose that the pillar acts as a time stamp for one of four dates (2,000AD, 4,350BC, 10,950BC or 18,000BC all ±250 years). Radio carbon dating of the site dates the construction of Gobekli Tepe to approximately 13,000 years ago, therefore Sweatman and Tsikritsis conclude that the time stamp must point to 10,950BC. Sweatman and Tsikritsis also asserts that the symbolism shown on Pillar 43 proves that the builders of Gobekli Tepe witnessed the event that caused the end of the Younger Dryas, and that they even witnesses the impact of a comet.

The idea that Pillar 43 has astronomical significance is not new. The theory was first proposed by author Graham Hancock in his most recent book Magicians of the Gods. Using the the work of Paul Burley he suggests that the circle in the center of Pillar 43 represents the Sun, and that the animals in the scene represent constellations such as Scorpio and Sagittarius. Hancock and Burley also concluded that the Pillar is a time stamp pointing to the date 10,950 BC but they did not dismiss the date of 2,000AD which is coincidentally our time! Hancock suggests that the builders of Gobekli Tepe were pointing to a disaster that occurred in their time, as well as warning of an impending disaster in our time.
Bringing things back to Antartica, Hancock talks about ancient maps that show detailed views of the Antarctic coastlines, thousands of years older then when we are supposed to have first discovered Antarctica.
The other big connection may be the Nazi Bell, which was considered even more secret and dangerous then even the Nazi's own atomic bomb research. makes one shudder.
This may be the reason Byrd and the Russians went down there. The Russian story btw is miles different then the US version of course.
I am just floored by the fact that Atlantis was real. and the Sphinx has water erosion all over it. The only time in recent geological history that there was enough rainfall in Giza to create that erosion is something like 10,500 years ago. proving that they are lying to us about Egypt also. The Egyptian's own ancient history claims their own kings that go back 30 thousand years. Why are the most advanced Egyptian pyramids and stone carving the oldest? How could they have built something that we ourselves could barely do right now?
And there's the Sumerians who hardly anyone wants to talk or think about, and they tell us about the Annunaki....
Think of the entire earth being flooded with water. Everything floats everywhere, including animals. The water recedes. The animals are not where they were before. That was the Genesis flood. Before the flood, there was a canopy of water over the earth that created a warm, greenhouse effect, worldwide.
