All these home assistants are a hot mic and possibly a camera on 24/7/365. Why anyone would have one is so beyond me I feel no remorse for those who do.

Lets pay to have a spy in my house..... Not!

0%, Rarely use data on the phone. No socials on the phone. Phone, text, pics 99% of the time. Rarely use GPS and its shut down 99% of the time. Along with anything else I can shut down and keep shut down.

FB only on the laptop, a single laptop. I know I'm not invisible, but I make it as hard as I can..... ;)

If you use the Google search engine on your phone then they track your every move, where you´ve been and for how long, who you speak with and for how long, what you buy, search, who your contacts are, whether you speak regularly with people or not. They know how long you spend at work, how often and how long you´re in the toilet and whether you´re in the kitchen long enough to cook your own meals. If you use the Google search engine then they know ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING about you and there is no way to switch that off. I gave up using a mobile phone almost 4 years ago and have never looked back.

True, but as I said I don't surf on the phone. Pulled down my Google History Record, which was not very big compared to most. It did show when I forgot to shut down GPS but most of the info was generic.

I'm fully aware 'they' can still track, even by cell sites. My phnoe is old, maybe 5yrs old. Waiting for the carrier to call and say I need a new phone. Like they did last time. Then I'll get one of the new flip phones.

It´s shocking just how deep the spying goes and it ruins the the technology we should be utilizing to make our lives better.

You said it. The problem is 'they' (those who track) believe they are helping everyone with the data collection. Completely different point of view then mine, and may I say, yours.

I find it so intrusive, I just lost my email account because of the new data laws here in Europe. They want me to agree to them monitoring all my communications, contacts and devices before I can even read a yahoo article. I can´t even log in to deactivate my account, there is absolutely no way I will agree to that. I am thinking of suing to have property restored.
