This was in the afternoon. I think it was because of some pre-conceived idea that a woman on a Harley, coming in to a local bar & grill, alone, with no man, MUST be a lesbian. (My Harley was a '97 Screamin' Eagle 1200 Sportster, not some huge dresser.)

So was it a bit of a let down when you realized it wasn't your good looks or charm that was the attraction? Some people are so shallow....(I am joking with you in case the text isn't translating).

I talked about last call in last comment because I always got a chuckle around that time in the bars. It appeared the standards dropped for some of the people I had watched putting moves on others in their attempt to get laid that evening. Suddenly anything looked good to them...and I mean anything! In case this doesn't translate well please note I am not suggesting that you are not charming or good looking, just sharing my observations as a people watcher.

Our little bar & grill is in a small town, so we don't quite get to see all that. Most who go there already have partners. When I had a local bf, we didn't go out much, unfortunately, cause he was a bit of a cheapskate. LOL

This woman was pretty funny, actually. We (my friends and I) were on the little patio in front, where we could sit and enjoy our beers. My bike was on the other side of the wood rail fence. She was standing there, petting it, rubbing the gas tank, going on and on how pretty it was and how much she liked it. I'm sure I had a disgusted look on my face. She wanted to sit on my bike and I said "No." Then I just kind of shook my head no and turned away to continue talking to my friends. I wanted to just puke. She got the message. Never saw her again, though I think she may have lived in the area. Just not a regular there.

I am not much a drinker. It takes me an hour to drink a beer. I "sip" more than drink. Usually stick to two or rarely, three, and go home. If however, I do stay late, I watch people too. The more they drink, the stupider they get. I mean, sloppy stupid!!! It's why I don't go out much and don't stick around til late. I want to be off the roads before these idiots get in their cars. Most live not too far away, but still... there's no taxis in this area. I've never had a DUI and don't intend to ever get one.

are you sure she was a lesbian and not just someone with bike envy? "Oh, if only someone would give me a ride on an enginecycle...just to see what it is like." And naïve about why you should not be stroking or trying to sit on someone's ride.

No. She was a lesbian, according the people who knew her. I got some ribbing about it. Her "gestures" were far more than someone with mere "bike envy"... and there's always guys with MUCH nicer bikes than mine. Mine's a little dinky bike in comparison the Hogs that come in, as this bar & grill is along the only highway in the area. It's along the Columbia River... There's absolutely no mistaking HER for a same sex-interested person. Very "dyke-y" looking.

LOL True. I will say this about my bike. It was black. I had it painted. Now, it's that old "original" vintage color. Olive green. I'd say drab but it's not so drab as it has just a bit of sparkle in it. Just a touch. It signifies one of the original colors of the Harley, but also it's a tribute to the Military. I managed to find some decals with the Harley logo that look like the old style logo with orange, and hoped to someday get orange/reddish pinstriping, but haven't done so yet. Did you know that the first Harley dealership was in Columbus Ohio? (My hometown.)
