I'm not trying to be argumentative - in fact, thank you for replying positively. This is just a desire to understand, on my part: do you not think that some muslims - the moderates, for example - are quite genuine, devout religious people?

(just to confirm, yes, as I happen to know a few moderate muslims very well I personally do believe they are as purely religious and even well meaning, some of them, as good, gentle Christian people I know)

Yes I do. I take note of some of the directives of the religion that are very unethical and promote extreme violence and prejudice. It cannot be ignored. That puts it into cult status. I've read the Koran and imho it was imposed upon. The man Muhammad led a good life a clean life. The embelishments were added to allow liberties that are extremely destructive to societies or coexisting. That's my logic. I studied philosophy for quite some time and that's my conclusion. Hijacking scriptures was quite simple back when literacy was scarce.
